They really don't like it when you don't come in and say hi to them for a while. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's not like I could. But according to what I could see, my time in the labyrinth had come out to a really long time here, like, months, and now I was getting raised noses and rolled eyes with the occasional hoof-stomp

It comes as no great surprise that once Annabeth got used to the inside of the bar, she would want to explore some of the outside.

(Grover, as far as she knew, had already had his share of exploring.)

A short walk, and she makes it to the stables. It still boggles her mind that there can be all of this stuff at the end of the universe.

But she's getting used to the surprises.

Not too loud, since the horses are kind of annoyed with me, but I wave my arm so I figure she sees me.

Finally. She feels like she hasn't seen him for ages.

"There you are!"

Okay, I'm am totally slipping back into the paddock a little. She was looking for me. This could be good or bad.

"Uh, yeah. It's, uh, kind of my job when I'm here. It's not like I can ask anyone for money to feed me while I'm in a place that doesn't exist."

And I know Mom can't really afford it.

Sameth's heading out to the forge and wanders into the stables on his way, its just gotten cold and he's wondering if Kait might like to go riding,

"Hello, anyone in here?"

"Uh, yeah. Yeah, I'm back here. Who're you?"

...smooth, Jackson.

"Sameth. Doesn't Doc Scurlock work back here?"

The question gets Sameth standing a good bit straighter, he has as much right to be here as this boy.

"Yeah," which, you know, makes sense, "and he hired me, uh, I think it's been a few months here. A few months ago."

Bonzo notices someone he hasn't seen out back before, working at the stables. So, somewhat naturally now, he waves to Percy.

"Ho there...you new here?"

I don't know this guy, but that isn't a bad thing. Sometimes.

"Uh, not so much new as I haven't been back for a while?" I venture.

"I'm supposed to be here, if that's what you're wondering."

"That's alright. I probably just didn't see you here before. Didn't recognize you, that's all."
