Time, in Milliways, is a very odd thing. This is why Kait comes down the stairs today, having thought she'd just spent the night sleeping off the effects of the Full Moon Happy Hour, and not aware that it has actually been a couple days. That isn't what makes her stop, though. No, what makes the sword-and-leather-pants wearing girl stop is that as she passes the Bar, a jacket appears. A heavy wool jacket, dyed red.

Kait eyes it, and continues to head out through the back door.

Two minutes later, she comes back, pulls on the jacket, buttons it shut, says, "Thank you," to the Bar, and hurries back out the door before she can think too much about accepting something from a magical artifact.

The cold helps in that. Kait, after all, is used to somewhere much warmer. The kind of warmer with monkeys and pythons and palm trees. Fortunately, her curiosity about the outside is so far out-weighing the sense of cold.
