Simon and Kaylee have been outside, so as not to be overheard. But as they're done with the part that's got to stay quiet, there are other things to be doing.
Inside the bar, Kaylee glances around a little warily.
Simon moves to take their snacks back to the bar.
Which is when Kaylee takes the opportunity to safely make eye contact with Mal, over in the corner, and point surreptitiously at Simon and then nod at the way to the garage.
When Mal doesn't explode and come over to strangle her, she figures that that means it's probably safe to take Simon down, like they'd talked about.
A faint smile at Simon now -- she doesn't look over at Mal again -- and she heads for the corridor, and the stairs.
