Eyebrow raise: she's getting some serious practice in that in Milliways.

"In the sense of magically transforming one thing into another?"

"But wouldn't it be easier to just give the useful properties of something to another thing?"

"But not as efficient, nor as efficacious," Minerva explains. "In short: it doesn't work as well."

But she likes the longer words. They're harder work, and therefore more interesting.

"They can though. I'm not sure how to transform something but I can make something of metal that will do some of the same things."

"I'm sure you can," Minerva says crisply. "However, I'm still correct."

If her previous statement had been written down, her tone now would be stating very clearly 'Go back and re-read'.

She reminds him of his sister and Sameth glares at her,

"Can I at least get a drink then or do I have to prove you wrong for that?"

"No," she returns tartly, black eyes looking calmly back at him, "But you do have to order."

"Then tell me how different is a butterbeer from a normal beer?"

[gryffindortabby]

"Because butterbeer is sweet and creamy and a golden colour, whereas beer is bitter and brown or black. And butterbeer is generally less alcoholic."

"Then I'll just have a regular beer, please."
