*Bernard makes his way out of the Staff Quarters, looking... not too bad. He's got his newspapers in his hand.

He gets a cup of coffee and a bagel from the bar and sits at his table, reading.

His face turns grim.*

Normally, Bartleby would respect that foul mood, but he has a purpose. He'll keep it short though. He makes his way to Bernard's table. "Hey. Don't suppose you saw my notice?"

"Congrats on the bar working again, by the way." He smiles. "And it said: I've gone to live in Wisconsin, need wages in cash instead of room and board. Roughly."

"It's okay. Couldn't find you, so had to get another job to get enough money to move up from the park bench." He shrugs. "So I've been a bit scarce." He sits down in a chair. "You look a lot better."

"Just need cash. Although a raise would be good. As the longest-serving member of staff." He grins. "Or maybe not longest-serving, since I left for all that time, but you know what I mean."

*Bernard concentrates, and Bartleby's built-up credit decreases. On the bar appears a small stack of American dollars.*

"Sure." The prospect of being able to quit his job in Wisconsin is making Bartleby grin widely. "Thank you again. Glad you're better." He stands to head back behind the bar.
