Justin is hungover to hell, tired and suffering a bout of teenage angst in a bad mood. He'd totally forgotten that he was down for a shift today, which is why he looks surprised when he finds Milliways at school and then downcast at the idea of working in his state

The boy looks tired, and a bit off-colour.

"Greetings," Teja says.

[art_and_brian]

'Hi, Teja.'

He slides off his stool, giving a great impression of it being terribly hard work.

'The usual?'

"If you are up to it?" Teja says. "You look as if it might be too much for you."

[art_and_brian]

He grins and finds the wine.

'I was out last night, that's all. I can still do my job.'

As evidenced by the prompt arrival of a well-watered red wine.

'How're you?'

"All last night - oh the stamina of youth!" Teja says, amused. "I am doing well; it is a good summer."

[art_and_brian]

'Yep. Might as well make the most of it before I get old like you.'

He loves teasing older guys about their age. It's always fun. He does peer out of the back door and then look at Teja with a slightly confused expression.

'It is?'

A Scottish summer hardly ever deserves the name, he thinks. Mostly raining and rarely very hot.

"I stood for more than eight hours in the thick of battle before I fell," Teja says. "That is good enough for me."

Pause.

"It is a good summer; I have friends, cats, and horses, and time to spend with my beloved. That truly makes the afterlife better."

He has no concept of how difficult fighting that long would have ben. But it sounds impressive so he concedes the point, only waiting a beat before saying, with a mischievious expression;

'I can go more than eight hours. Just not on a battlefield.'

Heh. Anyway.

'But it's not hot though. If it's not hot, it doesn't count as summer.'

"It is much colder than in Italy, indeed," Teja says. "But it is warm enough for all I wish to do, in the forge, and indeed oon the field that you prefer."

'It has to be warm for you to have sex?'

What?

'I guess cold weather would suit you better with working in a forge. It must get hot enough in there.'

"Outside one's room?" Teja says. "Indeed, it had better be warm."

[art_and_brian]

An eyebrow raises.

'Remind me to avoid the forest if I see you and Charlie headed that way.'

"Indeed, I would ask for it," Teja says. He sips his wine and looks content.

Justin pouts, though his heart isn't in it.

'It's a big forest. I think you could probably be avoided. I wouldn't have put you down as the al fresco type though.'

[ostro_goth]

"I have spent much of my life under the open sky," Teja says, "or at least, not under a steady roof. Why should one not enjoy pleasure outside, also?"

[art_and_brian]

'Oh, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it. I love fucking outside.'

He shrugs.

'I'm just saying I couldn't see you doing it. You seem too uptight for that - and I mean that in the nicest possible way.'
