There's a wolf nearby, Gilbert.

She wants your croissant.

She's putting on the cute act to try to get it, snuffling at your legs.

Hah, like cuteness is going to win him over.

Gilbert looks down at the canine, raises his eyebrows, and, once the butter on his croissant has melted somewhat, takes a dainty bite.

"...Good dog."

[gorgonfondness]

But she waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaants croissant!

She hops up to put her front paws on his leg, snuffling at his hands and trying to lick.

But it's his croissant, and he doesn't want to share!

So, he does his best to squirm back on his stool, away from the inquiring wolf's muzzle, pulling his hands back...

Just a second too late to save his precious pastry from doggy-tongue.

"Ech," he grumbles, glowering down at Alhena and dropping his tainted food. "Disgusting."

Lunchtime speed tag?

Ako would frown at you Gilbert, if she knew.

That said the latest manga for Mahou Shoujo Biblion and a milkshake are what Ako orders when she comes to get a seat.

"Goodmorning."

The greeting catches Gilbert unawares, with a bite of croissant still in his mouth. His (surprised) reply, as a result, comes out a bit garbled, as he swallows:

"G'mornin'."

Once he's recovered, though, he spares a glance over towards Ako and her order - ending up staring at the manga she's procured. How strange-looking!

"What," he asks, "is that?"

"This? It's a manga. You read it from right to left."

Ako has apparently failed to grasp that not everyone can handle Japanese. Or has seen comics books.

"This one is the most recent issue of Magical Girl Biblion. They're sneaking into the wizard's library."

The sketch, at least, if fairly clear with a pair of girls in short skirted black outfits heading into a cave.

"Read it from...?"

He turns on his stool to get a better look, leaning over and eying the present sketch. He squints for a moment, considers it quietly, and then ventures his best guess.

"So, it's a booklet of drawings with, ah, captions?"

A lot of captions, it seems like.
