Teja is sitting at a table in the bar, eating fruit salad.

It had been recommended to him, so he would find out what pine-apples are.

They are fibrous, and tart, Teja finds.-

"I would suggest the drink called an Atomic Cat," says the not'cat stealing a chair at Teja's table, "made with pineapples, but the vodka in it would be no good for you."

Yrael's not really a fruit kind of person.

"Yrael!" Teja says, turning to look at his friend. "I have not seen you in a while. And indeed, you would not wish me to drink vodka, and the wax maudlin over things from my life that I can no longer change."

[mogget_cat]

Yrael grins, a bit sheepishly. "I was busy for a while, a week really, outside of the bar. I only returned yesterday, and even then, I was out of the bar last night."

[ostro_goth]

"What were you busy with?" Teja asks, curious.

[mogget_cat]

"A sentient, feline-eating yarn creature was seeking to use my territory as its new hunting grounds, so I sought to teach it how grievous an error it had made," Yrael grins, toothily.

"It was an enjoyable week."

[ostro_goth]

"Feline-eating?" Teja says. "It is good that you vanquished it! I would not wish for the forge cats to be eaten. They are very, very dear to me!"

Pause.

"Spending a week away, fighting, can be good. I would go to the battlefield world again, also, if its door ever appears again. Only through the blue one, of course."

[mogget_cat]

"The bones I found were certainly feline," he nods. "So I wanted to persuade it not to come here looking for food again. It was quite enjoyable, so I didn't burn it completely. Just enough that it would surely leave this place alone, and not eat my friends."

[ostro_goth]

"So if you ever wish to fight something, you can go back there and destroy it some more," Teja says.

Hurrah for readily available bottled enemy!

They're good to have around.

"Hopefully. It was trying to lure cats out of the door when I first noticed it," being lured, himself, "so I do not know whether I would be able to open the door to its location."

"Possibly if I opened the door while holding one of the pieces I burned off of it."

[ostro_goth]

"So the fact it lured you, and none other," Teja says, "probably saved Kitty, Ferdinand, and Count! So I would thank you for fighting the good fight for their sake."

[mogget_cat]

Yrael looks grumbly and sheepish. "Was it that obvious?"

He doesn't like that he cannot help having a cat's attraction to yarn.

"You all but said so yourself," Teja says, somewhat amused.

[mogget_cat]

Yrael's grin is wry. "I suppose. I couldn't help it."

[ostro_goth]

"You are cat as much as you are man, or woman," Teja says. "I would not blame you!"

[mogget_cat]

"It doesn't make me like not being completely in control of my behavior any more than I do now," he shrugs. "It is like with catnip. I do not know how it affects me, but it does."

[ostro_goth]

"Nobody is in control," Teja says. "Whatever way fate falls will shape our lives. I would not claim to have been in control when I fell in love with my Charlie!"
