Demeter sees Momiji and beams at him,

"Hello, Momiji, you look quite handsome."

[candied_rabbit]

"Mm?"

The boy can't respond right away, because he's busy nomming on one of the cherries he's been given, the red stem poking out between his lips. But he does flush a bit and offer a gracious smile around it.

When he finally pulls the stem free, he just adds:

"Aww, thanks. Hi, Demeter."

She just laughs and almost hugs him before stopping herself and instead kissing his cheek,

"Should I start asking women their intentions when they say hello to you?"

There's a little squirm and half-jump back on his stool when he's near-hugged, just on reflex - but he does his best to disguise it as a more normal fidget, leaning his cheek in a bit and giggling at the kiss.

"Huh? Why would you have to do that?"

His naivete's going to get a nice work-out, in the weeks to come.

"Because you have grown into a rather beautiful young man."

That's cause enough for a much more forceful blush, along with a small laugh and a shake of the head.

"I don't think you have to worry about that."

And he just plucks one of his remaining cherries from the top of his milkshake, offering the cream-dotted fruit towards Demeter.

"Want a cherry?"

"I'd love one and Momiji, you should know better than anyone that there's always ways around things especially here."

"Here y'go, then."

'Miji happily passes the cherry over to her, before finally starting in on the milkshake itself, leaving the last cherry for later. Before long, he's accidentally gained a little dab of cream on his lower lip.

"I didn't mean because of the Curse - girls just don't like me like that. I'm not like my cousin Yuki. He's always getting chased around."

He sounds more amused about this than anything else. Given the circumstances, it saves him a lot of headaches.

Demeter takes her time eating the cherry and gives him a knowing look,

"I think that's going to change."

[candied_rabbit]

"Mm, maybe."

This comes along with a non-commital hum from around his milkshake's straw.

"Ooh, and I'm starting my next year of school in a day or two! I just got my new uniform and everything."

"Wonderful, what will you be studying this year?"

[candied_rabbit]

"Uh, the same stuff as usual, I think. Japanese and English and math and history and stuff."

He shrugs.

"But it'll be fun to see everybody, again. Being home for break got a little boring."

"I can see that. How much have you traveled?"

[candied_rabbit]

"Er, I went and visited my family's hot springs, which is kinda out of town? But I stayed home, 'sides that."

Momiji pouts softly at this fact. Sohma travel restrictions bite.

"You could always visit me if you wanted to."

He laughs and grins a bit.

"Hee, thanks - I don't even know where you live or anything, though."
