Shufti is in a booth, keeping an eye out for suspicious people or anyone who wants to pass on information.

She's not the lead on the case, but she's been keeping an eye on things in order to do her bit. Her security badge is visible pinned to her front, and she's polishing her sword on the table.

"Greetings," Teja says when he recognises the wife of his friend CJ. "How does your family fare?"

[vs_nuggan]

"Doing well thank you." Shufti says, nodding at him with a small smile. "Leah is about to have her first birthday, Jack is out of nappies and keeping us on his toes, and CJ is good as always. How are you?"

[ostro_goth]

"I am" -- long pause -- "exceptionally well. So well, I am still astonished about it myself," Teja says. "Despite woe and murders."

[vs_nuggan]

"I'm glad." Shufti says. "Do you know anything about the murder that you haven't shared with Security?"

[ostro_goth]

"I have not spoken to Security about the murder at all," Teja says. "They were very busy, from the moment I saw them that night when the body was found; I did not wish to disturb their work."

[vs_nuggan]

"Is there anything you saw that night that you wish to report?"

[ostro_goth]

"I did not see the murder," Teja says, "merely the victim, in passing, when Security was already there. It was bloody, but you would know that. What else would you need to know?"

[vs_nuggan]

"Did you see anyone suspicious coming from the scene? Anyone covered in blood, looking very edgy, hiding?"

[ostro_goth]

"No," Teja says. "I saw men about, but they were minding their own business, and none were bloody."

He has never seen a crime series on TV; he has no idea what he should be looking for.

[vs_nuggan]

"Anything else you think might be important?" Shufti asks. It sounds like Teja didn't see anything.

[ostro_goth]

"No," Teja says.

[vs_nuggan]

"Did you see anyone who wasn't Security out there at all?"

[ostro_goth]

"Yes," Teja says.

[vs_nuggan]

"Who?"

[ostro_goth]

"Captain Ryan, the werewolf, who sometimes uses the forge as well," Teja says, "as well as one I did not know before, who was shooting a large firearm for target practice."

[vs_nuggan]

Shufti makes a note of these.

"Was Captain Ryan armed? What did the second one look like?"

Beat.

"You did not think that a man with a firearm was suspicious near a murder scene?"
