Not even to Axel?

"Yo, Roxas," he calls, raising a hand in greeting. The sight of him still sends an odd clenching feeling through his heart, but he's going to try to be... normal.

Especially not to Axel.

"Hi." the sight of Axel still makes Roxas disaffected and - uncomfortable. Unhappy, maybe.

"Been a while."

By which he means he's unspeakably thrilled Roxas is still here. Still exists.

"Yeah." Roxas doesn't look away from him, but doesn't smile either.

"Come and sit down?" he offers. There's room on the couch, for once, and he misses just sitting and hanging out with Roxas.

"There're too many people inside. I was going to find a tree."

That's not a refusal of company.

"Sounds good to me," Axel replies, hopping to his feet.

[lockitwithkeys]

Roxas nods silently and keeps stomping until he's outside. It's gotta be a tree with branches big enough Axel won't touch him.

Axel follows him, content to go where Roxas wants to.

"If we can't find a good tree, there might be a ledge in the mountains," he says.

[lockitwithkeys]

"Okay. There's a maze in there too."

[killitwith_fire]

"Yeah. I got myself lost in there, a little while ago," he says with a laugh.

[lockitwithkeys]

"It's big."

There aren't any trees big enough. Roxas heads for the mountains instead.

"Yeah, it is. You've been?" he asks, still following Roxas.

[lockitwithkeys]

Roxas shrugs. It's better than saying Well you made me promise not to go home.

[killitwith_fire]

"Big enough for us not to bump into each other, then."

[lockitwithkeys]

"Yeah."

Sucks to run into someone you're avoiding.
