Ben's at a nearby table, amused as all hell with an origami kit -- complete with an instruction booklet -- he'd gotten along with his meal from Bar earlier.
It's entirely possible he's responsible for the green paper airplane that skids across Billy's map.
The sudden landing of the airplane startles him and he lifts the marker from the paper and blinks down at it.
His hand has drifted towards the edge of the table, closer to his hip and gun beneath, but stays on the tabletop as he turns his head and tries to track where the little craft came from.
"Yep. Been tellin' the world how Billy the Kid was shot down by Pat Garrett."
He laughs again and a lot of people would probably find it odd at how amused he is by this.
"They don't know it's me, of course. I'm just the messenger. Brushy Bill Roberts, deliverer of the sad news of the Kid's end. Shot in the back by a lowly lawman. I'm pretty sure if Garrett showed his face in a lot of those towns he'd get his own brand of justice from some angry folks."

"Dunno how the hell that happened."

"Wade, this your funny... " He looks at it again and doesn't even know what to call it. "paper... thing?"

"Airplane," he says with a nod and a half-smile. "It turned out a helluva lot better'n this unsightly excuse for a bird."

"How're you doin' that?"
He tilts his head, trying to get a better angle on the page of instructions Ben is looking at.

He turns the book so Billy can see it better, then takes a sheet of paper from the stack, creases it, and --
"This."
He sets the freshly formed plane on the tabletop, nodding to the colorful sheets of origami paper in an open invitation.
"Fold up some for yourself, and tell me what you're doin' with that map while you're at it."

When Wade is done Billy grins and nods, licking his fingertips and separating a paper from the stack.
He scans the page over again, then sets to work. It isn't long before he has his own airplane, a very close approximation to the one Ben just folded.

(It's crumpled near the trilobite tank, waiting to be discovered by a harried wait-rat.)
He squints at the violently neon writing apparatus Billy brought over.
"The hell's a 'highlighter'?"

Looking at the marker he grins and holds it out to Ben for inspection.
"Some kinda pen, Bar gave it to me. Marks things, but it's light enough you can see through it. See?"
He shows Ben the map with the highlighted markings he's been making.
"I'm keepin' track of places I been to tell folks I'm dead."
This statement gets a laugh.

(He may be a little too bemused by this.)
Turning his attention to the map, "You been preachin' your own demise?"

"You got plans for Garrett?"
Reply
"Work on the best way to handle him in the meantime."
Pulling the book closer he starts to turn pages, looking for something else to make.

"I reckon the better question's if Bill Roberts has plans for 'im."

"So what about you? You haven't been gettin' yourself dead, too, have ya?"
