Fun fact Ray discovered last night: if you push hard enough for altitude over Milliways, you don't get sent back to where you'd just been the way you do when you try to get over Belar's mountains. Whether it's true for anyone else or not he doesn't know, but he, personally, got sent back to his world.

Fun fact number two: Since he'd never been through the high-altitude portal before, it did not send him back to his original point of arrival at Milliways. So there was no sudden arrival of a full-blown Valkyrie in the skies over New York.

Fun fact number three: There are still five nations monitoring the position of the North Magnetic Pole in Ray's world, just in case the Great Old Ones decide they want to give things another go. And they mostly send very edgy people up to the monitoring stations.

So, yeah, it's been kind of an interesting past twenty-four hours for Ray. On the bright side, he did get to find out what Mach 4 over open ocean feels like. So that's something. Also, there's at least some level of subspace compression going on; he's still pretty huge, but he does at least fit through the door and under the rafters when he manages to squinch his way into the Bar upon arrival today. He figures it's a fair trade for all the rest.

Big damn robot scientist available for conversation!
