Buffy studies his robes. Possibly he's involved in some kind of collegiate graduation ceremony. At...this very moment.

Remus is a friendly thing and sends a friendly, if slightly puzzled, smile her way when her attention lands on him.

Buffy returns the smile, a little sheepishly. People-watching: less embarrassing when the people don't watch back.

"Graduation ceremony?" she says, nodding at his outfit.

Politely: "School uniform."

...What. It's true.

Her expression changes rapidly to one of muted horror.

"That's some uniform."

A beat. "...No offense. But aren't you sweltering?"

[not_lupine]

Rather amused: "It depends on the weather."

"-- Well, yes," Buffy agrees. "Do you go to some crazy private school or something?"

He sounds British. Maybe all British kids wear uniforms like this, and nobody told her. Maybe Giles wore a uniform like this.

"Yes," he decides, eventually. "That's it."

"I guess there are benefits to public school," Buffy muses. "Well, thanks for the belated life lesson. I'm Buffy, by the way."
