Sometimes I'm right, sometimes I'm wrong
But he doesn't care, he'll string along
He loves me so, that funny honey of mine

Sounds like someone's found the evil karaoke machine.

And of course, for imagery's sake, she's still got her costume donned as she slinks around.

(Thankfully, her singing voice isn't half-bad.)

Blake doesn't so much watch Sally as drink her in.

(Who couldn't? Half of the world is in love with her.)

And the costume - the almost-sheer yellow fabric, black corset, cut up to here and down to there, and that one, long, black glove - makes it hard for him to exactly look away.

(It isn't as if he would.)

She feels Eddie's gaze on her before she finds him among Bar's other patrons.

Compelled to sing, however, the words of the song make it out before any kind of comment specifically directed at him.

He ain't no sheik, that's no great physique
Lord knows he ain't got the smarts

(Maybe it is directed somewhat at him.)

Aimed at him or not, Eddie snorts softly, feeling his eyebrows rise even as a half-amused, half-challenging grin appears on his features.

Oh, but look at that soul
I tell you, that whole is a whole lot greater
Than the sum of his parts

See, Eddie? She can be nice, too.

And nothing but something changes in his expression. As if he's seen an invitation, something that's his.

So he gets to his face, grins again, and leaves his cigar at the table.

And, damn, damn, he wishes this weren't a goddamn bar.

The song's already slow, but it slows down even further at this part, and her eyes track his movements with a hint of wariness.

And if you knew him like me
I know you'd agree

A pause in the song, and a pause in her breath. She swallows.

What if the world slandered my name?
Why, he'd be right there taking the blame
He loves me so and it all suits me fine

He moves slowly, assuredly (and there is something decidedly old about him already, something that he'll learn to hide later), his gaze never, ever leaving her.

And in a tone that's rougher than he'd like, just under his breath:

"Y' sound good, Sal."

Is that a blush? It could very well be, but if called on it, she'll just chalk it up to the rising temperature or an overapplication of blush.

(All obvious misdirects from the truth.)

The song ends, after what feels like an eternity, and she lifts a hand to fan her face.

"Is it warm in here?"

"There's a fire on," Eddie says, nodding towards the fireplace.

"So what inspired that? Didn't think it was your usual."

"It's not." She's the first to admit it, and jabs a finger over her shoulder at the karaoke machine.

"Think the thing's possessed."

Quirking a brow, he shoots a dubious look in the machine's direction.

"Possessed? Guess I wouldn't put it past this place."

"After everything I've seen? It doesn't surprise."

She takes a few steps in the opposite direction. Just to be on the safe side.

"But I don't feel like repeating the offense any time soon."

Shaking his head slightly, he moves with her. As much as he enjoys a fight, picking one with a karaoke machine at the possible expense of serenading the whole bar isn't something he's keen on doing.

"I'd hardly call it that."

She tilts her head back, halting her steps.

"What would you call it?"

He stops a few steps later, turning to look back at her.

"Somethin' along the lines of 'standing room only.'"

She flat-out scoffs then, waving her gloved hand in an oh, please gesture.

"Come off it, Eddie." She stalks past him towards the bar.
