Jane was not expecting the note she received from the Bar today. She was simply looking forward to a quiet place to perhaps read or even do a bit of writing not serving others, but she will do as she must.
The book of cocktails is put away as instead Jane writes a list of what she knows in neat handwriting.

Hopefully that will please all the various patrons here and she dares Mister Lefroy to comment on her serving any of them. She settles herself as neatly as she can on a stool and picks up her book.
