Look! Door's open!

Observe carefully as a middle-aged man clad in fading green Jedi robes, rarely seen here nowadays, walks through the door. See the strange look on his face as he tries to decipher where he is, and the grin that replaces it as soon as he recognizes the place. "Son of a glit-biter, really? How long has it been since I've wound up ( Read more... )

There's a woman sitting a few stools down. She's currently tapping through a data pad and slowly sipping at a Whyren's of her own. Her features are sharp, but perhaps familiar.

But most of all, she just looks young.

O.O

CORRAN KNOWS THAT WOMAN. And he grins like a maniac when he spots his future wife "Mirax! Over here!"

Sithspit, she looks young... like she did 20 years ag--Uh-oh.

Corran has a very bad feeling about this. He taps into the Force and (Force, I hate doing this) taps into Mirax's thought process...

Does she at least know who I AM?

Her head snaps up and around at the sound of her name. Especially when spoken with a Corellian accent that definitely isn't Wedge's.

"Do I know you?" she asks politely. And pointedly.

KRIFF.

He opens his mouth, then shuts it again. Well. This is awkward. Nice going, CorSec.

Thinking quickly, Corran answers, "Uh, no. But... well, your father's Booster, right? Booster Terrik?"

Think faster, Corran...

"Yeeees," she drawls out, sitting up straighter. She's suddenly much more guarded. "And how do you know my father?"

Corran smiles. He's got it now... oh, if Booster only knew how that ident for Corellia was coming in handy right now... "Oh, your father and mine work together." (Sorta...) "My name's Idanian--Jenos Idanian. He speaks very well of you, you know. Might even say he brags."

"He's on Kessel," Mirax voice drops a few degrees. Okay, more than a few.

I knew it was too easy. "No kidding; we've all heard by now. Any word on who exactly caught up with him?" Corran nonchalantly sips at his whiskey, doing all he can to NOT AROUSE SUSPICION.

I mean, you know. Not more than he has already.

"Damn Corsec officer. Name of Horn." She spat the name.

One Officer Horn better hope he never meets Booster's daughter.

"Hmm. I'll keep an eye out for him, find out what we can about him. Think he got lucky, or is he just good?"

Corran already knows. Hal Horn was just that good.

Even if it did take him 5 years. Which is why Booster was also just that good.

And maybe lucky.

"You knew my dad," she says in a tone that suggests she's not convinced he does. "What do you think?"

Cute. Real cute, baiting me like that. Corran appears to deliberate over his answer for a moment. "Well, knowing your dad, one of two things happened. Either this CorSec guy fell across him in a bar somewhere, recognized him, and mopped up a bunch of his own guys before arresting your father, or this guy was chasing him from Booster's first run, and was finally in the right place at the right time."

He shrugs. "Either way, there's substantial luck involved, which makes sense since you claim the guy was CorSec. They were always too lucky for my taste." He forces in as much disdain as he can muster. Which is, unfortunately, not a lot, but it sounds restrained. Kinda.

Mirax continues to eye him distrustfully before nodding slowly.

"Yeah." She doesn't have anything else to say to him. She's never been the sort to sit around and swap funny stories about her father, after all.
