There's a toddler wandering the bar, occasionally stopping to peer under tables and around people.

In fact, he's wandering quite close to Demeter.

Demeter sees him and kneels down to be on his level,

"Are you looking for something or someone?"

"Just adventure," he says easily.

"There's lots of adventure here. I'm Demeter, maybe I can help."

As she watches the bar, she might notice a petite blonde sitting at a table not too terribly far off. She seems to be pondering very seriously a cooling cup of coffee in her hands. She looks tired -- weary, in point of fact -- but active. Her eyes and fingers won't stay still, as if she's taking tally of something in her mind.

Demeter comes over, not touching her yet just sitting beside her and when she speaks her voice is warm and comforting,

"Kate?"

Katherine turns her head and blinks a few times.

"--Oh, Lady Demeter. You look well! Is it spring in your world?"

She absently trails her fingertips over her coffee cup.

"Not yet, no, but soon. I've been planting seedlings. You don't look well."

She's very cheerful.

At a table not too far away is a young man -- somewhere in the neighborhood of twenty, though very self-possessed for it -- with a cup of coffee and a clown's half-mask, and no particular expression.

He's not watching her. With Trowa, this may or may not mean anything.

The rosemary is securely in its pot and Demeter sends a smile his way,

"Are you celebrating something?"

Its more for the mask than him, he looks in need of something.

. . .

"No," says Trowa. Impassively.

Why?

"Not getting dressed up to surprise your lover?"

Its been a long time since Demeter's seen Ganymede but she recognizes that look of confusion and walks over,

"Ganymede."

"No, its not. This is its own place called Milliways. No one of the family controls here, you can relax, I promise you won't get in trouble."

Teja, though, is not at his best yet; but Charlie has given him a blue pill from the future, so he walks up to Demeter without sniffles or sneezes, and with his step utterly steady.

He has business with her.

"Greetings, Demeter!"

"Hello, Teja, how are you doing?"

"It will be spring soon," Teja says. "And Charlie makes me happy, and I hope, he me!"

Feeling a bit cold is truly not worth mentioning.

"Did Carlotta speak to you?"

"About what exactly? I'm afraid I've been spending a while in my garden lately."
