Will's rib hurts, its fused up but he took a pretty bad blow so its bruised and moving is not fun.

That's why he's sprawled over by the fire with some mulled wine and a book of things to know about college.

He feels like he should learn more about what Kate will be doing.

"Hurt yourself again?"

Charlie's been watching Will read as he wraps the shaft of a trimmed feather in thin floss thread. He's been doing this a while, as is obvious by the cup full of finished ones between his knees.

Will's eyes goes to the feathers first,

"Oh aye, what are ye makin'?"

"I'm not making anything, just wrapping feathers. A friend of mine uses them for various things."

Charlie gives Will's apparently sore torso a quick study. "You should really do that less."

"Oh aye, ye've a skill with that. Could teach ye to fletch arrows if ye wish. 'rhaps just na good at stayin' still."

[riversinger]

"Mind if I join you?"

River has an arm load of books. She sees the young man reading and finds an empty seat near the fire. She pigeonholes a rat and asks for a mulled wine as well.

She's reading about lycanthropy.

"Mm, oh aye, milady."

His eyes go slightly wide at her stack of books,

"Are ye goin' to read 'em all?"

[riversinger]

"Well, only the good bits," she smiles as she settles in. Nosy academic that she is, she's eyeing the book on his lap. "And what are you reading?"

[will_scarlett]

"Somethin' 'bout colleges, milady. Me Kate's preparin' to go to one an just dinna know as much as feel I should is all."

Kate getting ready to apply makes Will feel so very ignorant.
