"Ah! Guten abend, Frau Cata." It's a bit quiet on the home front, so the Medic thought he would stop by the Bar for a bit of relatively quiet reading. Herr Soldier's dose is severely in need of adjustment today and the Medic just is not in the mood for it right now. "How do you do today? Und sank you for ze book."
"You're welcome. And thank you for the rifle - I hadn't expected anything in return, though I do appreciate it." She sighs. "As to how I am... there are some interesting developments at home. I may be faced with something I'd never expected to do."
"It vos taken from vun of Herr Sniper's victims. Ve don't alvays have access to a vorking respawner, so a dead man's gun in such circumstance goes to whoever can claim it. It vos no great trouble, I assure you."
"We're starting to get people who've never trained before. No one's in any sort of shape to start that now, but we might be able to take new students by this time next year, and... I might end up teaching. Not something I've ever seen myself doing, but so far, I'm the best hand with poisons that's come back." Cata's never been one to back down from a good challenge, and at least she has a while to wrap her mind around the idea. Still, it's odd to be confronted with, at least at the moment.
"Hm. Interesting. I wish you luck; I've never had much temperament for teaching myself." He gives a self-deprecating little smile. "Unless by example, und even zen... vell, as I said, good luck, ja?"
"Thank you. If nothing else, I have a while to adjust to the idea, and if someone must do it, I'd rather they learn from someone who knows the subject well." Of course, if the man who taught her does come back, she'll be more than glad to let him do it. But she's not expecting that; it seems a bit much to ask of the world, given the circumstances.
"I've only heard of four, so far. But the fact remains that people are starting to ask about it again - even if we're in no condition to take them on, it's a good sign."
"I should sink so. Expertise, even rusty, is better zan fumbling in ze dark." He glances at the rifle. "I sink someday you und Herr Sniper are going to vont to talk outside of vorking hours. He vould appreciate vot you do more zan most of us, from vot I know of him."
"Perhaps, yes. It's always good to talk to a fellow professional." At the moment, it's just good to know there are in fact other worlds with fellow professionals. "We didn't exchange many words when we met, but... well. There was work to be done."
"Herr Sniper believes in holding to professional standards of politeness und efficiency, even under heavy fire," says the Medic. "I believe he vos a huntsman in his native country before he came to vork for us."
