There are very few days when Momiji doesn't have time to pop into the Bar for a quick break. There are plenty where he doesn't happen to - very few when his absence is a result of being a bit too frazzled.
Today, alas, is one such rare event. But, as it happens to coincide with the Milliholidays, he's here anyway, precariously balancing a load of presents as he descends the stairs. He'd had all his holiday gifts stowed up in his room for just such an occasion!
A few moments later, he's popped over to Ms. Bar and asked her to dole them out to their proper recipients.
Mia's present is square and slightly bulky, wrapped in cartoonish, snowflake-print wrapping paper. Inside is a plain, white box holding a woman's kimono in a vivid pink with floral designs. He didn't quite know what to get her husband, but there's a container of Japanese cologne nestled in the gift for Draco, as well.
Chiffre got off easy with a somewhat serious gift, last time the holidays came around. This time he gets a little box with a
singing bass inside, wrapped in smiley face paper.
At a glance, the present with Artemis' name on it seems to be filled with candy canes. Hopefully, the boy-genius will rummage through it a bit, as the sweets just cover two vials of
Felix Felicis that the rabbit got off Draco Malfoy a long while back. Artemis, he figures, will have more use for them, and he's helpfully included a (poor) explanation of the potion's powers, scribbled onto a Christmas card. Added in at the bottom of said note, by way of explanation, is the addendum: "Mia said you liked magic!"
Guppy gets a cushy baby's blanket, white and frilled at the end. Across the center of the blanket, somewhat cutesy depictions of the Zodiac animals are embroidered in a wide circle, the interior of the design filled in with vague shapes that might be meant as planets and suns and starbursts and the like. The blanket itself is wrapped up in paper printed with cartoon fish.
Is it bad that Momiji found Will a t-shirt that reads, "ROBIN HOOD IS COMING?" Because he did. It's been left with Bar nestled inside a little box wrapped with snowman paper.
Justin gets two presents, both small, rectangular, and about the same size as one another, concealed in Christmas tree paper. Each one contains a little booklet of manga, in English translation, for their new owner's sake. Given the cover images - two young men kissing on the one and a similar couple embracing on the other - their general theme probably isn't too hard to decipher. (Though they might be a good bit too tame for the older teen.)
Hey, Bars get to celebrate, too! So, Ms. Bar gets two boxes, one with a big bottle of polish in it, the other containing a few collector's shotglasses he picked up at a little souvenir shop, in town. The latter, he figures, is a nice, practical gift for the lady who's almost always at work, and the former is good for...uhm...polishing?
Do magic bars ever need polishing? He probably should have thought of this before. Oh, well.
With the gifts all dealt with, he scampers off towards the front door and slips right out of it, back to his own world.
