Leela clomps up to the Bar. "One appletini, please." Nothing. "Uh... Bar?"

A rather long sheet of paper appears in front of the cyclopean mutant. "What's this? ...Is this my TAB?! I can't afford that!"

'No handouts! You want booze? Earn it!

Yeah, so he's just staring. Not at her, mind you. But at the specials.

She's waiting. Arms crossed over her chest.

After a time, her foot begins to tap.

"Ready to order?" she asks.

Athos jerks his head away from the board at the tone of the bartender's voice.

"I was trying to figure out what an Acloovian Death Match would entail. My apologies."

A beat.

"A glass of wine, if you would. Something French. A Burgundy."

Athos gets a once-over.

She moves to retrieve a wineglass and a bottle of French Burgundy from the section marked 'B', setting the goblet before Athos as she pours a healthy serving.

She sets the bottle down and leans on the Bar, smirking at him.

"Really only one way to find out," she offers.

"Is that so, milady?"

A pleasant smile, as he swirls the wine in the glass with a well practiced hand, before having a small sip and setting it down.

A well-practiced hand will get him far with Leela.

IN THIS GAME. NATURALLY.

She nods, once.

"If you think you're up for the challenge," she taunts.

"I find it hard to turn down any challenge. If you're challenging me, of course."

Another drink of the wine.

"Excellent choice, by the way. This is a wonderful vintage."

"Thank you," she accepts the compliment.

Leela knows her liquor.

"And I'm always challenging somebody, Mr...?"

"Athos," he says, simply. "Call me Athos."

He reaches for her hand.

"And who do I have the honor and pleasure of sharing drink with this evening?"

She shakes his hand, firmly.

"Leela," she replies, with a smile. "Captain Turanga Leela, but Leela's just fine."

"Leela. What a lovely name," he says, honestly, testing it out again as he reaches for his wine glass, murmuring it to himself.

"Where do you call home, milady?" He inquires.

If she was a more delicate woman, she might have blushed at the compliment. But, as it is, she simply smiles and nods, uttering a "Thanks!"

"I'm from New New York, Earth, in the year 3000 A.D.," she replies, wiping a random water ring from the Bar with her towel. "How about yourself?"

"Paris, France. 1625. I do believe you're the furthest 'ahead' woman I've met, here. What's your New New York like?"

The mun should not be entertaining thoughts of a field trip, nope.

"Probably in more ways than one," she smirks, shooting him the Cyclopean equivalent of a wink.

(It's not as awkward as it sounds.)

"I work for a delivery company called Planet Express. It's run by an old professor, Professor Farnsworth, who sends us out into space to deliver packages, or bring him back things for his experiments.

"The city itself is pretty normal, for New New York. Though, Old New York still stands under the new city. That's where the mutants live."

It's all very matter-of-fact.

"Mutants?"

He'll get to the space travel, delivery service, and the wink in a minute.

By way of answer, she opts not to say anything for the time being.

She just blinks at him.
