Whistler originally had an entrance post about Thanksgiving and looking after Mother rather than going to Akron, but LJ ate the damn thing. This is the second time it's happened today, so you have been warned

Jingle, jingle. Suzi heads in after him, eventually, and drifts toward his table, "Hello, Whistler. How's it going?"

Whistler turns in Suzi's direction and grins. "Pretty good, pretty good," he says. "The things they're getting up to with component miniaturization these days are amazing. It's gonna take me a week to get the hang of this. How about you?"

"Good!" Suzi chirps, "So glad that it's all over, you know? I'm a citizen!"

Whistler grins. "Hey, you earned it," he says. "Congratulations once again!"

Suzi grins back and touches his cheek before scooting a chair next to him (so she's not in the way of his project), "I couldn't have done it without you."

And a brief interlude with flashy-thing when a proctor noticed the tentacles. >.>

"Always glad to be of service. Of course, now we've got to celebrate appropriately..."

"Suggestions?" Suzi asks, a grin in her voice.

"Oh, I think you know what I'm thinking," says Whistler, grinning back. "What haven't we disassembled lately that you'd like to take apart?"

"Ooo." Suzi considers that for a while, "Actually, now that I can own a business? I need a security system for it. Zed said he'd come look it over too, but you're obviously the first."

"Naturally." Whistler nods. "As a matter of fact, I kinda took the liberty of drawing up a few recommendations. It all depends on the scale we're talking about, of course."

"Why don't you show me what you have?" Suzi asks, scooting closer, "Since I don't have any kind of store at all yet?"

"Not a problem. Want me to start with the 'Fort Knox, only good' plans and work my way down?"

[sime_channel]

"Sure!" Because even if it's not something that she could actually use, it's fun to see what Whistler can do when he puts his mind to it.

"Excellent."

The problem with writing proposals in Braille is that there's no way to make them look small and unobtrusive just before you hand them over and blow the recipient's socks off. You have to hand over a sheaf of thermoplast printouts as big as a book.

Still, it usually has its own sort of dramatic effect, so that's something, at least.

Suzi laughs a little and rests her hand on Whistler's, then removes it so that she can start reading from the top.

"You've really been thinking about this!"

"Gives me something to do when you're studying and I'm not helping," Whistler says with a shrug.
