One Riku, in the bar, by the fireplace once more. He's dressed in civilian clothes, heavy ones - thick, khaki pants, a long sleeved black shirt, and a thick red coat. Way to the Dawn rests beside of him, but he's looking at it as if it's something strange, as if it means nothing to him.

How very odd of him.

There is a hooded, silent observer some distance away.

He may or may not be noticed.

It doesn't matter to him either way.

Ah, but he is noticed. And with as much damage as Riku's done to his memories, he remembers the Organization far too well. He jumps up from the couch, grabbing Way to the Dawn automatically, before remembering certain bar rules.

It stays at his side, but it's certainly not raised as he walks over. "So," he says. "Which one are you?"

"If you can't remember," Zexion says, voice quiet and even "Then why should I inform you?" He doesn't even budge as Riku makes his way over.

"Because you're screwing around with my friend," Riku says, "And maybe if I know who you are, I've got a reason not to hit you right now."

"Given your apparent lack of memory, that is a faulty conclusion to draw." Zexion comments, voice not wavering. He doesn't bring up bar rules. He's hardly frightened of Riku now that he knows what to expect of the boy.

"I may have holes in my memory," or so people keep accusing him of, "But that's something I could never forget. I've witnessed too much of it to say otherwise."

"You are aware that you used the present tense before, and no longer are. Are you certain what you're thinking of is really what has occurred, and that I am to blame?"

Riku blinks, and stops up, looking confused. He rubs at his eyes, and looks back up, his emotions caught somewhere between the surprise and the confusion.

"I -- what?"

"Memories are fragile things, Riku." Zexion says, tilting his head to the side just slightly under his hood. "They will lie to you. Are you absolutely certain your memories are telling you the truth? What is it that you think happened - or is happening right now?"

"The Castle," Riku says. "All of you fucked with both of us. That's what happened."

Somehow, he remembers that clearly, now. Perhaps he will forget in a moment, but it shines brightly in his mind now.

"And between you and your companion, most of us suffered non-existence or near that." Actually it was Axel who did most of the footwork there, but who's splitting hairs? "One would count that as making us at least even."
