Angelina hasn't been to the bar in a while. Why bother? Most of the people she used to know have stopped coming, moved on to bigger and better things. The last person she had any real connection to left without saying goodbye and never came back. Bastard. Not that she's bitter or ( Read more... )

Yrael's off from his bartending shift, now that the Bar has woken up again, so he heads over when he sees a familiar face.

"Could you make that two, dear Bar?" he says, taking the stool next to Angelina.

"Yrael! Hi!" she says, smiling to see a familiar face, even one she hasn't seen in so long.

"How are you?"

"I am very well, my friend," he grins. "How about you? I haven't seen you in quite a long time."

For both of them, it looks like.

Angie shrugs.

"I haven't really been around much lately. I've been really busy."

She made sure to keep herself that way, so she didn't have time to dwell on things like dead parents and ex-boyfriends.

"Being busy can be good," Yrael says, snagging a paradox. "But occasionally, one must slow down enough to see where one has ended up, from such business."

"Perhaps you're right," she says, shrugging again. "But sometimes slowing down makes you think things through too much. Besides, I like being busy. It makes me feel like I've got a purpose."

She grabs a paradox herself and pops it in her mouth. It tastes just like she remembers them tasting: exactly as an onion ring does not.

"Merlin, I've missed these things."

Yrael nudges her shoulder, curious. "Are there things you're not wanting to think through?"

"Maybe just a few," she admits.

"Then you've come to the right place, perhaps," he says.

There may be a hug. Someone's missed seeing her around.

Angelina approves of hugs.

She smiles and nods.

"Good old Milliways. Always shows up at just the right time."

And with just the right people too.

"Always," Yrael grins, wry. "Whether you know you need it or not."

"Pity you didn't come in a bit earlier. It was my Happy Hour shift today."

Yeaaaaah, someone's got a paid job.

"I never would have picked you for the barman type," she says, slightly surprised and amused.

"Neither would I," he laughs. "I signed up for an interview for a lark, just to see if I could."

"Turns out the standards for barpeople are about the same as the bar's entrance policy," Yrael grins.

Angelina laughs.

"Sort of like bar security, too really. But I suppose the bar job is made somewhat easier by having a sentient magical bar around when things go wrong."
