It takes a great deal to distract Bella from her research. Normally, she won't be bothered for anything short of the End of the Universe. However, when a man walks into the Bar juggling lightning...that is worth taking notice of.
"Sir?" she asks, "Might I ask why--not to mention how--you are accomplishing this display?"
"Pardon me, dear lady," he says quickly, almost stuttering out the reply. "I did not intend to startle anyone. I had thought I was entering a very different establishment where they are used to such things from me."
"A pleasure to meet you, madam. Nikola Tesla, at your service. My current place and time would have little meaning for you, but I am originally from Austria-Hungary, also in the late 19th century."
"The effect of a moderate amount of alcohol on the body of a Serbo-Croatian inventor," he says, deadpan. Then he gives the young woman a smirk. "In other words, I just wanted a drink. Perhaps you would care to join me?"
Irish coffee for Tesla. Ostensibly every bit as good as what would come off the Machine, but lacking the subtleties of a well-loved and long-used apparatus.
"You mentioned my experiment just now. Am I to understand, then, that my name is not unknown to you?"
"As far as the world is concerned, I am long since dead," Tesla says with a slight twinkle in his eye. "I received so few accolades prior to faking my death that it is always gratifying to hear them now."

She gestures vaguely toward the End of the Universe.

Oh, all right...
"Really? It is so good to meet someone from my own time! What is the goal of your current...experiment?"

Bella often forgets that it is not 1891 for everyone at Milliways.
