There is something to be said for fully exploiting the capabilities of your weapon, whatever that weapon might be. However, the Medic is of the opinion that when you are Herr Soldier, and when that weapon is the rocket launcher, at least one of said capabilities ought to be exploited on a limited, need-only basis. Gratuitous rocket jumping results

A skinny red-headed child rolls - yes, rolls - up to the Medic's feet. She unfolds her head from rolling position to beam up at him. "Hello again, Mr. Blue Doctor Man!"

That was a bit of a surprise, but the Medic smiles. "Ah! Guten morgen, fraulein Edward," he says. "How do you do?"

Ed gangles to her feet. "Ed is very well, yespleasethenkyew!" she replies in a very fake British accent. Then, returning to her normal voice, "Ed is going to rake leaves together outside and make a big pile and jump in it!"

"Hmm. Und zere are no slugs to be hiding under ze leaves in vait for you?" the Medic inquires. "Ve didn't haf a lot of trees in ze city vhere I grew up, you see. I don't sink I ever did zat vith leaves vhen I vos a boy."

Surprisingly enough, Ed seems to sympathize. "Ed's never been in lots of places with trees before Milliways." Pause. "Except on the Bebop, and those were Jet's little trees and Ed was not supposed to play with them." She uses her hands to vaguely indicate something the size of a bonsai tree.

"Mr. Blue Doctor Man can jump in the leaves too!"

"Nein, I don't sink so," says the Medic with a regretful smile. "I do enough jumping in ze course of my day, und even vith ze leaves instead of vater it vould feel too much like vork. But I could votch, if you like."

'Work' is not exactly an easy concept for Ed, but she gets the idea. "Okay! Then Ed will have someone to cheer when she does a ten-point leaf dive! Woooo!" With that, Ed falls over backwards, rolls and springs to her feet with a grin.

"... haf you been studying gymnastics, or does zat chust come naturally?" the Medic wonders aloud.

"Ed is special!" Ed declares cheerfully while turning a pirouette.

(Incidentally, the Medic is not the first person to ask that question.)

(Somehow, we're not surprised.)

"Alvays a good answer," says the Medic. "Vell, as soon as I haf finished mein breakfast I vould be happy to come und have a look."

"Okay!" Ed says. "Ed is going to find a gardener and ask where the rakes are!" She waves at the Medic and skips to the back door.
