Whoa, that was weird.

For a moment, it looked like a tall, gaunt figure with deep-set eyes watching Andrew from a position at the bar.

Which is of course ridiculous.

Those are sunglasses.

Hell, it's Milliways. Anything's possible.

Andrew looks confused at something he's just read.

Andrew is between Crowley and Crowley's favourite couch by the fire.

He could always take the long way around, of course, and thereby avoid - well. Awkward conversations, for one thing.

(Among other things.)

Crowley's eyes narrow behind his sunglasses. Mug of tea in one hand, and newspaper in the other, the demon sets off with studied unconcern towards his couch.

Which means: towards Andrew.

"That can't be right," says Andrew out loud, frowning down at the book.

It happens, you know? Especially when things're going on at home in a big way. Ray knows all about that, which is why he's trying to read the book upside down. He'll remember his manners eventually, really!

Without looking up: "Hi, Ray."

"Hi, Andrew." Not like Ray was being subtle or anything. "What've you got there?"

"Research?"

Now he looks up, and smiles. "Hey. How've you been?"

There is a quiet, "Ah," from over his shoulder, as Wesley Wyndham-Pryce leans over slightly to get a good look at the woodcut.

"I must say, that volume, much less that page, doesn't bode well for your week."

Andrew glances up, and smiles crookedly. "Hey, Wesley. Yeah, we got fun times going on back home."

"Yes, we've been having some of those ourselves back in Los Angeles."

"Fun times all round, then."

Beat.

Longer beat.

"...Hang on. You're, uh -- you're back in Los Angeles?"

"Hey, Andrew."

Sam's got a bag slung over his shoulder and two longnecked brown bottles in his hand. He holds one out.

"How's it going?"

"-- Sam! Hey."

Andrew takes the offered bottle and closes the book he's reading, leaving his pocket notepad in between the pages as a makeshift bookmark.

He nods to a chair.

"Mind if I--?"

"Sure, go ahead."

He frowns slightly at the cast on Sam's arm. "You okay there?"

Bela notices detailed woodcuts right away. They often fetch a high price.

"He doesn't look like a friendly customer. Golem?"

An amused snort. "Grife, no. These guys are ancient, and they're the real deal, not some mystical clay androids."

He hasn't quite looked up from the page.

She frowns, trying to get a closer look.

"It's a monster, though, yeah?"

Her interest is piqued!

"It's a demon," he says, in a tone of friendly correction. "Sulcar demon, if you want to get specific. Which ... I do."
