Penny slipped in through the door, a dog at her heels. It had...been a while. Her steps held a new hesitance as she secured a chair, and her black bandages were replaced by something darker, thicker...and more structured. A coat, done body suit style. IT even had gloves, to cover her claws...and that was what she was still working through really ( Read more... )

"That is okay..." Penny rattled cheerfully at the woman "I am pretty sure I don't either." Once her hand was safely lifted from the page, she looked around.

Annabelle blinks a bit at the rattling.

She smiles and introduces herself, "Annabelle Newfield, lately of an Earth in the 1930's"

"I am Penny, I am mute!" she offered cheerfully, the rattling apparently being how she talked and the translator on her wrist turning the chime sounds to English.

"From...a lot of places and times but now I live in Yorkshire with my family." and that statement was very important, if the smile wasn't a clue.

"Nice to meet you Penny. I'm glad that you're with with your family now."

"I've been to Yorkshire once or twice, but it probably wasn't your Yorkshire." She pauses for a moment, "I never thought I would be speaking of other worlds quite that casually."

"Nice to meet you too." she offered genially "I am much better with them." she so she was glad too!

"It is a nice place...and yes, probably not your Yorkshire." she grinned and her 'chuckle' sounded vaguely like glass bells "You get used to many worlds. For me it was...nice...to find a convenient place most worlds connected to. It takes too long to get through them the long way!"

Annabelle chuckles at Penny's complaint that it takes too long. "I suppose it would!"

"I suppose you could say that I found one person that I consider family here when I arrived. I hadn't thought that I'd ever see Michael again."

"Is your Michael dead?" she asked curiously. She knew the dead also dwelt in Milliways, she just hadn't found any of her own in such a condition.

"No, Michael Donighal is very much alive." She smiles sadly, "I was the one who died."

"Oh!" she was a young girl who didn't seem at all taken aback by that revelation! "You look very good for a woman who is dead! Does it feel odd, being here?"

Annabelle grins at Penny's response. "I suppose I do."

"This place certainly wasn't what I was expecting, but I feel just like I did when I was alive."

She shrugs, "It's a bit odd getting used to the idea of multiple worlds and times. Michael is from a point in time long after I died in my own world."

That was just very, very weird! In a good way though. "You get used to the time thing too. My team never did figure out what time I was from, or world..." she assured cheerfully as she carefully pulled a glove back on.

"May I touch your hand?" she asked, once the razor edged claws were safely covered "You probably do not feel different from what I can feel of living people...but I don't know!"

"Certainly," Annabelle replies as she holds out her hand. She's rather curious about it herself.

She didn't so much 'touch' as gently tap with a single claw. People were very...fragile. "Solid!" assured cheerfully. Then she held her palm just above the woman's skin "And warm. You are fine!"

Annabelle smiles, "Good to know. I wish some of the medical staff I've had to deal with were willing to take that as evidence to let me be up and about."

Annabelle wasn't the worst patient ever, but it was probably close. Taking it easy was generally something that happened to other people.

"I am not a doctor" she shrugged, the movement sending chiming ripples through her hair. "But I know some people have to be up and doing what needs to be done until they can't again."

...the statement made more sense in her head.
