"No," X says, head tilting as she looks at Elle.

"My mission is completed."

"There are no more X-men."

Beat.

"Cyclops has disbanded the team."

X is a little bit at loose ends. For now.

"Comin' or leavin'?" Logan asks, nodding at the bag when he helps himself to a stool beside her.

"I came back. Here."

She falls silent for a little while.

Then--

"I will stay."

What she doesn't ask is if it is all right.

Except by the way she looks at him, hesitant and almost unsure.

He looks over at her then back down to the bag.

"You got a room?"

He's sure she does, that's not really what he's asking.

"Yes."

Beat.

"There are clothes in it, too. Jamie gave them to me."

Maybe she's even answering the right question this time.

Go figure.

The pasta isn't bad, either.

Mary Anne pauses with a forkful of penne halfway to her mouth; she sets it down and waves when she spots X.

"Hey you." She glances pointedly at the bag. "Where are you headed?"

"Hello."

X catches Mary Anne's wave and shifts her own angle of approach.

"I came back."

Beat.

"I will stay."

"It's good to have you here."

After taking that neglected bite of pasta, she can't help wondering,

"Any special reason you decided to move in?"

"Yes."

Beat.

"The Institute has been destroyed."

Beat.

"And Cyclops disbanded the X-men."

She does not understand why. Not really.

It is slightly subdued today. It is entirely possible that a rather recent revelation has something to do with this. His own sandwich is glanced at briefly. And then shoved aside for the moment.

"Hello."

X is also a little quieter than normal.

"You are okay?"

It's almost entirely true. But Stitch has never had much of a poker face.

It's a true answer.

"Cyclops disbanded the X-men. It is very strange."

It's been a hard day and she sits beside her at the bar. "hello?"

X falls silent, tilting her head as she watches the other girl.

Waiting.

She asks softly looking at her.

X stays silent for another moment or two.
