Kyo is still in the bar. He's been in and out the past few days, but mostly out.

He can only stay there so long before the temptation to stay in the woods and never go home gets too strong.

He's got a feral cat or two around him, and is stroking one as he reads a manga.

Definitely botherable.

After this, Kyo may find Yrael lying out in the woods, half paying attention to the book in his hands. The two cats, having fled Kyo earlier, are curled up at his elbow. Within easy petting-distance, of course.

The not'cat, looking much better than he had the night before, looks up at Kyo's approach.

Kyo storms over, and sits on the ground heavily.

"I hate him."

He glares at nothing, and the manga crinkles in his hand. "I hate him so much."

"I see you have run into Yuki," Yrael says, quietly.

Yeaaaah, Yrael knew he was here. Knew it would happen eventually.

There is a grunt, and a rock goes hurtling through the forest.

"I hate him."

Repetitive Kyo is repetitive.

[mogget_cat]

"...Why?"

Yrael would offer to spar, but Kyo would kick his ass.

A not'cat has to have dignity, after all.

"He-"

Kyo shakes his head. "He's here. Everything's going to go wrong now."

That's the way his life works.

[mogget_cat]

"No it won't," he says, softly. "He is not so all-powerful as that. We can prevent that."

"I'm not going back."

Kyo is firm about this. "If I stay here, then he'll stay there."

[mogget_cat]

"Is it for the best, that plan? To let him run you out of your very world?"

Yrael's tone says that is counterproductive.

"I don't care."

Kyo's tone is almost desperate.

"I just never want to see him again."

[mogget_cat]

"What about Tohru?"

It's blunt.

Don't think he hasn't noticed Kyo's tone when he's mentioned her.

"He'll say goodbye for me."

Well, no he won't, but what can Kyo do about that? "She's better off with him anyway."

[mogget_cat]

"Her happiness is for her to decide, Kyo. But for her to have a choice, you have to be there. He's not stealing anything from you if you're handing it to him."

"Come, sit."

There will be a feral cat deposited in his lap once he does.

He moved closer, and stroked the cat. "I don't care. She has more choices than just the two of us. Maybe she'll hook up with Momiji."

He hopes so, if only to stop Yuki from winning.

[mogget_cat]

"You can't mean that," Yrael stares at him.

"I have heard your voice as you speak of her. That result would be no better than if she chose Yuki. You would be giving up, and you're better than that, Kyo."

Who trained so long and hard, with tireless dedication, for the chance to beat Yuki in a fight?

"I do."

He doesn't, but he hopes that time apart will make it less pressing. "If she's the only reason to stay in Japan, then there's no point in going back."
