He's shouting back over his shoulder as he comes barreling through the door, but when he swings around and realizes where he is, Jack Sparrow breaks off there with a start.

And is promptly hit in the midsection with a glass of rum.

Raven is good.

And possibly also laughing, yes?

It is a thing.

"Careful, lass!"

He clutches the glass in a frantic attempt to keep it from sloshing all over him.

"Be a horrible waste to go spilling rum, savvy?"

[creator_raven]

"It is, I think, not so difficult to buy more, so."

This is Raven's unrepentant face.

She wears it a lot.

[pirate_jack]

"But you'd still have lost some," he argues. "No need to be doing that."

He takes a swig to prove his point -- whatever it is -- and offers it back to her.

[creator_raven]

Raven wrinkles her nose.

And when she takes the glass back, her swig contains only whiskey.

"Things are always for being lost, I think. It is not so bad."

Sometimes Raven lies.

[pirate_jack]

"Ah, but when what's lost or gone missing is somewheres that someone knows where it is, then even if it's not where it might should have been, it's not really lost at all, now is it?"

[creator_raven]

Raven snorts.

"Sometimes it is also dead, so."

What? It's true!

[pirate_jack]

Jack makes a face at her.

"Dead has nothing to do with a thing being lost or not, luv."

[creator_raven]

She snorts again.

It is louder this time, and far less delicate.

"That, perhaps, is mostly what you think."

Clearly he is wrong.

Er.

[pirate_jack]

"Happens as I know a thing or two about it, savvy?"

His feet are planted solidly on the floor, but he's swaying back and forth slightly, in tune with the rhythm of a distant ocean.

[creator_raven]

"I am not so good at forgetting."

Raven does not quite roll her eyes.

"Also you are young, so."

[pirate_jack]

He makes a face at her.

"Not that young."

A beat.

"'Course, I'm not old, either."

[creator_raven]

Raven's grin is very bright.

"I am very old. So."

She is very smug, too. It shows.

[pirate_jack]

Jack grins back at her.

"So?"

[creator_raven]

"I am for knowing more than you."

Oh, yeah. Smug.

"It is a thing."

[pirate_jack]

"Seems to me that those who are too old start forgetting things and having all that knowledge go running away like sand in a wave, luv."

Said solemnly -- for the most part.
