After considering advice from a whole host of people, Billy's decided to put up a sign. He asks the bar nicely for paper and markers, and writes in his best handwriting. When he's satisfied that it's as neat as it's going to get, he posts it on a nearby wall and hopes it's noticable:

Loki reads the note and considers for a second or two before she sketches a quick rune int eh air which bursts into a will-o-the-wisp. The will-o-the-wisp flies off into the barroom and explodes harmlessly against Billy's paper.

She is soon there and says, "You are the one seeking a teacher?"

Billy drops the paper and looks up in alarm.

"I am. That was impressive."

[seid_shifter]

"A simple matter really," she says dismissively. "I am Loki Laufeyson, you are?"

[bluespells]

"Billy Kaplan. Also known as Wiccan."

His expression says: oh my god. Not that Loki, surely?

[seid_shifter]

Loki notes the look but decides to ignore it for now. "Your attire seems familiar. Are you one of those Super Heroes that run about?"

[bluespells]

"...yes?" and then, more confidently: "Yes. I'm a Young Avenger."

[seid_shifter]

"I was unaware there was a new Avengers group," Loki replies while thinking Good to know. "Are there many members?"

[bluespells]

"There's a handful of us." He's hedging. If Billy had spidey-sense, it would be going off now.

[seid_shifter]

"It must be difficult to..who do you say it 'step into their shoes'?" Loki says warmly. (Is she getting a little too close to Billy?) "Do you support the senior team or has something happened to them?"

[bluespells]

Yes, yes she is a leeetle too close. But she's a goddess on his world and he's not about to offend her. "The Avengers are around. We mostly handle minor stuff."

[seid_shifter]

Loki looks Billy directly in the eye and says, with much warmth, "But why? You do not seem as if you need coddling. Are you and your friends not a warriors? A warrior does not get their name by doing 'minor stuff'."

[bluespells]

Billy's trying not to look her in the eye, and wishing someone with more diplomacy was around to help him out. "We don't." And, because she's gone and insulted his pride. "We defeated Kang the Conquerer and stopped a Skrull/Kree war." Mostly. Kind of.

[seid_shifter]

Loki gives a little space but chases Billy's eyes with her own.

"I am sorry, I do not wish to offend. Perhaps your elders are jealous of your prowess. It is hard to be old and have the young come to replace you."

[bluespells]

"You-- didn't offend me," he squeaks. She's almost touching him and this is freaking him out. "We're not replacements, though."

[seid_shifter]

"I see," Loki says relenting a bit as she turns to face the bar (Did her breast just touch his arm?). "Perhaps I can buy you a drink? To toast the new warriors?"

[bluespells]

OH MY GOD THEY DID. He looks distinctly miserable. "I don't drink alcohol."
