Coyote is lurking in a booth near the front door. Yep. Nothing to see here. Move along, move along.

"Evening," says an amused voice as Raguel approaches her booth. It's hard to sneak up on her at this angle, he's noticed.

"Looking for something?"

[howling_laugh]

"Always, Angel. I only never know what I will find. It seems that luck favors me tonight. Join me?"

She looks amused too. Possibly at him, possibly not.

"It's just that lurking in sight of the door is usually my thing," he says, sliding in across from her.

"I think you're taking over."

[howling_laugh]

"Clearly, you are rubbing off on me," Coyote informs him with a smirk and a wink. She then proceeds to rub her foot up his shin without changing expression.

His eyebrows go up. Sometimes, Coyote really puts the P in PDA. It's still going to take some getting used to, but at least he isn't running.

"Guess so. I don't think I'm a very good influence, if I'm encouraging you to spend time in booths watching doors."

[howling_laugh]

She beams at him. "Ah, but Angel. That means I'm getting into less trouble, you see? So long as I am here, trouble cannot find me unless I wish it to. You see?"

"Here in the bar, or here in the booth? 'Cause I've tried avoiding trouble in both and it hasn't always worked. Maybe you're just more talented at weeding it out than I am."

[howling_laugh]

"Here in the booth. Because I can see most of the trouble when it tries to get in. Unless it sneaks up on me. And I have the fine staff of Milliways Security to protect me."

Yeah-huh. Notice how often Coyote talks to Security: never.

"Yeah," he says uncertainly. He has a lot of faith in Security, but there are issues that come up around here that he's not confident any of them can entirely prepare for. It's escaped his notice that Coyote might not be entirely serious.

"And me," he adds as a cheerful afterthought.

[howling_laugh]

"And you." That smile isn't going away any time soon. "I would pick you looking out for me before Security on any given day."

She does trust him, of course. (Also, Security doesn't have a soft spot for her.)

The fact that he might be capable of doing something in here (in the looking out way as opposed to the... aggressor way) is - to his way of thinking - a pretty big step. He beams at her.

"You would?"

[howling_laugh]

"Of course!" She is almost insulted that he would ask, but knows about his occasional...self esteem issues, shall we say.

"After all, you have my best interests in mind. And perhaps you like me a little."

[un_fallen]

"There is that," he says thoughtfully, trying for a straight face.

"After all the spirits and skinwalkers and who knows what, I wasn't sure what you thought."

[howling_laugh]

"If I did not trust you, I would not have told you I was having difficulties at all." A few people dragged it out of her. But she didn't let anyone else come and check things out until it was all over.

"My work is not over yet. But it shall be soon."

"Think so?" he asks, leaning forward very slightly.

"'Soon' as in a matter of months, or a matter of hours? Or somewhere in between?"

[howling_laugh]

"Somewhere in between. Hopefully. Perhaps you could visit, sometime in the future. Before or after, if you have such a need to feel useful."

She wouldn't say no either way.
