It's a pretty average day, which doesn't mean Clark doesn't need a break now and then. He might be used to having someone else in the house underfoot by now, but he still likes some time to himself on occasion.
Not only that, he's got more of a responsibility here than he had before. He's part-time Security now, so he has to make sure he gets in some regular shifts. Which is what he's up to now, for the most part, although it could very easily be mistaken for lounging in a chair with a cup of coffee and a newspaper.
It's the badge that makes the distinction, of course.
