There's a young boy, settled at one of the tables, surrounded by girly-coloed construction paper, glitter pens, glue, and paper doilies. Also on the table, is a very large order of paradoxes and a cupcake with a candle in it.

To the Milliways Calender Day...Tyler's officially been here one year.

"Valentine's Day for you?"

Carlos tipped his chin to the colored paper and glitter. That's the only reason he'd been using that kind of thing when he was younger.

"Mmmyup. Valentine's day 2006." Kid is a couple years behind the Milliways curve... but that's standard for patrons.

"Making them myself."

"I see," he says with a nod that says he takes that very important holiday and the artistic stresses within.

"Always the best way."

[tyler_marlocke]

"...it was either this or I used these."

With that a foil box with a wonderfully colorful array of super hero pictures, cheesy puns and joke cards is produced, featuring some team known as the Earth Defense League.

Odd that a kid would turn down using these flashy ones.

They don't match Carlos's personal idea of aesthetic, nor his somewhat romantic spirit, so he sort of dismisses them immediately.

"Yeah, those aren't worth your time. Besides, anybody worth it should be, you know, worth it. I never got the whole 'premade card' thing."

"Lot of kids like buying em cause they're expensive."

Read as (even if Tyler can't): Fancy Premade=Disposable income.

"And some of them do come with some cool comic book heroes on them."

"I see what you mean," he says.

"How many you aiming to make?"

[tyler_marlocke]

"I gotta make...19 for my regular class...and..then another 26 for my special class." Tyler replies after a moment of thought. "So about 45 all together."

Aha. So this kid had a lot of work ahead of him.

"Are you doing any special ones? Like, for certain people? Or you just want to make a lot of them yourself?"

[tyler_marlocke]

"..."

There is a pause and a piece of lavender paper is pulled out.

"I might...if I knew who she was that sent this."

[mago_sonriente]

He holds out a hand.

"Can I take a look at it?"

[tyler_marlocke]

"Sure thing... Just don't read it okay?" The note is very carefully handed over.

Definitely a young girl's stationary.

"Wouldn't dream of it," he says as he looks at the card itself.

He hands it back a moment later.

[tyler_marlocke]

The note is slipped carefully back into a hidden pocket on the boy's clothing.

"I kinda like making them. I might give some of the guys in the class the premade ones."

[mago_sonriente]

"Think they'll like the superheroes more?"

He had enough little nephews and nieces.

[tyler_marlocke]

"Yeh, I'll leave out the ones with Mom and Dad on them tho--.eep."

The kid's hands automatically go to his mouth.
