Los Angeles is pretty wonderful, but not during the summer months. That's when the heat is at it's hottest and just because he can take it doesn't mean he wants to. As such, when the door opens from the family restaurant, he doesn't so much walk

"Local not so local girl?"

He's been here long enough to be familiar with the concept.

"I noticed the 'LA Times' and figured I'd say hello," he said with a faint grin.

"Ramirez," he introduced himself.

He took the hand, shaking it firmly before letting go.

"I always figured that only some people can be so lucky," he said with a grin.

He shrugged his shoulders.

"There's more to the city than smog. And you know it."

He's never been one to be pessimistic. And in his situation, it'd be a death sentence.

"It's the oven that has me here tonight," he admitted with a brief laugh. "My family's restaurant has better food, but only fans."

He waves his hands, as if dismissing it.

"No clue. And I'm not looking. Same way as I don't question the good beer and the good food."

He winced.

And stood up, stepping back a moment.

"Uh, that was probably me. I've got a thing where I can mess with technology if it's too advanced. Or too close. It's, uh, not intentional, I promise."

He shook his head.

"Not so much, no. Except with these good looks."

He grinned at her.

"I'm a wizard. Magic and tech don't mix so well on my world."
