There are any number of productive, useful things Hannah could be doing this evening, mostly related to getting ready to going to college.
She is, instead, here, trying to see if she can manage to balance a peacock feather on the end of right index finger. With rather limited success.
And since she's rather focused on watching the "eye" of the feather (so she can anticipate which way it's going to move), it's entirely possible she's not paying nearly enough attention to where she's walking.
