Xaldin is attempting to get used to being indoors based on the theory that it's slightly easier for him than it is for Xigbar and one of them should be able to go inside without pain.

Or at least without admitting to pain.

It's the computer that causes him to stop and look. He'd be the first to admit that he hasn't any artistic skill, and he's not interested in translations, but once upon a time he worked with computers and biology. Yes, wildly different areas of focus but he was that smart and filled in the gaps his best friend had in his knowledge.

So the computer causes him to stop and look at it.

Not biology, no. The design is clearly mechanical and complicated in a way that means extra dimensions get used for storage. And routing connections.

Yunno looks up, "Can I help you?"

"Probably not. I was just interested in your computer." Xaldin says "It's been a long time since I got to work with one."

"It's a portable from Mid-Childa. At least the design is, Bar produced it. Did you work with computers a lot?"

Yunno sets the computer, which is mostly keyboard due to the projected screen, aside. His eyes need a rest after staring at preliminary spell equations.
