The door opens, there's a blast of hot (though not unpleasantly so) air that smells of lavender and sandalwood. A two-foot tall teddy bear comes tumbling into Milliways, accompanied by a washrag, a "Grandma Loves Me" t-shirt, and six socks

"You'd be in Milliways," says a rather glum man by the bar.

Then he turns to the voice and ... well, jumps up in his seat.

Teddy bear. Talking.

It certainly smells nice, though.

[snugglesoft]

"Oh, dear," says Snuggle, when the man jumps.

"Are you all right? I do hope I didn't startle you."

[fat_charlie]

"Uh - well, yes. I'm fine," Fat Charlie says, attempting to lie and failing terribly. "Splendid."

Pause.

"It's just - well, you're a bear. A teddy bear."

[snugglesoft]

"Yes. I'm Snuggle," the bear provides.

"Who are you?"

[fat_charlie]

"Oh, I'm Charlie," he replies. "Snuggle. An oddly fitting name for a teddy bear ... that smells like it's been in the wash quite recently."

Especially judging by the the socks and the t-shirt.

[snugglesoft]

They are rather giveaways, aren't they?

"In the dryer, actually," Snuggle says, happily.

[Does Charlie need a hug?]

[fat_charlie]

There are raised eyebrows.

Very intriguing.

"Well, now I've seen everything," he says, more to himself.

[ooc: indeed, he does!]

"Oh, no," says Snuggle, "there's always more to see, outside the laundry room."

He smiles at Charlie and then very quickly wraps his arms around Charlie's knee.

[fat_charlie]

"Not if you've got -" he starts, sounding a little bitter, before a very peculiar uplifting feeling makes his voice stop short.

"You - hugged me," he says, a smile suddenly appearing on his once frowny face. "And it was - thank you."

[snugglesoft]

"You're welcome," says Snuggle.

"Hugs can brighten days, you know."

[fat_charlie]

"Yes, I do believe you're right," Fat Charlie says in agreement.

In fact, he feels like he could agree with anyone about anything right now.

"Today feels brighter already."
