The door opens, there's a blast of hot (though not unpleasantly so) air that smells of lavender and sandalwood. A two-foot tall teddy bear comes tumbling into Milliways, accompanied by a washrag, a "Grandma Loves Me" t-shirt, and six socks ( Read more... )

Sally smiles sympathetically at the poor dear thing.

This bear is obviously how a teddy bear is supposed look, she thinks, sighing softly, not like those terrifying things with the long claws and bared teeth that Jack had the children make.

"You're in Milliways, little bear." She gets up from her table and makes her way to the bear, kneeling when she comes close.

"I'm Sally, what's your name?" She offers a hand.

"I'm Snuggle," the bear says, with a smile.

Sally seems very nice.

"A moment ago I was in the laundry room, and now I'm here."

Laundry... Oh!

"Nice to meet you, Snuggle! Like I said, this is Milliways. It's a restaurant in the deep sky, past the sun! That's Bar," Sally points to the bar, "and if you ask her, she will give you almost anything you want. She'll give you a room key too. And there are rules, of course. No hurting others is the most important rule to remember."

"That sounds so pretty," says Snuggle, happily. "And I would never hurt anyone; that's not nice or friendly at all."

Snuggle looks over at Bar.

"Almost anything?"

Sally nods and smiles, sitting down on the floor. "Yes, I think she won't give out living things, you know, plants, fish, cats, things like that. Would you like to try? I can help you up on a stool if you like."

"Thank you, yes! That sounds like fun!"

Snuggle smiles even more brightly.

Sally stands up, brushes herself off then reaches down for Snuggle. "Would you like to sit on Bar, or on a stool?"

"On a stool, I think," says Snuggle, letting Sally pick him up and wrapping his arms around her, in what must, technically, be called a "hug."

Sally grins happily, sensing a sort of hug, and hugs back.

"You're so very soft!" She sets him down carefully into a seat. "Would you excuse me for just one second? I have to go get my things."

Well, soft is part of the job description, really.

"Of course," says Snuggle.

Sally quickly runs back to grab her bag. When she comes back, she sets her things out carefully.

"I like to sew, and Bar gives me nice things to sew with. All you have to do is ask."

"I don't think I've ever seen anyone sew before," says Snuggle, looking at her things as she sets them out.

"Sometimes things come to the laundry room, though, and they've been stitched back up since the last time they came."

"I can stitch myself up, want to see?" Sally shows Snuggle her arm stitches. "Or I could just sew you something. Is there anything you might like?"

Snuggle looks at her arm stitches.

"That's wonderful."

He frowns slightly. "One of my feet is fraying. Do you think you could fix it?"

Sally smiles. "Of course I can! Let me see." She bends over just a little to get a closer look. "Yes, I think this will be easy to fix. Bar, could I have some thread that matches Snuggle?" A small spool appears, perfectly matched to Snuggle's "fur".

[ooc: I need to flee, would you like to fade/wrap/slow-time?]

"Thank you," says Snuggle, holding his foot out to her, and watching as she sews.

Really, you meet the nicest people out of the laundry room.

[ooc: Let's fade there? But they may need to talk again. Thanks!]
