There’s a Villiers and an Imriel curled up on a sofa, and a teeny tiny rabbit on the table busily munching on some hay.

What? Where’s Le Chiffre, you ask, and why is the local doormat snuggled with someone so young and devastatingly gorgeous? Well, perhaps you missed their dramatic and slightly pyro-tastic breakup. Perhaps not. It's been a while, ( Read more... )

Hey, a rabbit!

...A familiar rabbit! Momiji's seen that rabbit before! He's seen the people curled up near the rabbit before, too.

Well, he's seen them before. Not necessarily curled up. And this last part might be the reason he's leaning over the back of the sofa, looking down at them more than a little curiously.

"Hi, Imriel. Hi, Villiers."

"Momiji."

Imriel grins up at him. (When does Imriel ever grin like this?)

"Hi."

The greeting still sounds odd, from him, but something about Momiji incites imitation.

"Hi Momiji," Villiers smiles.

It's a Momiji. Momijis make everything better.

And look! Even Imriel is smiling, which is clearly a good thing and totally worthy of a light hair-ruffle.

"Mm."

The inquisitiveness on the young man's face fades away at the smiles and the hair-ruffle, and he justs leans over farther, planting his hands on the back of the sofa and smiling down at the pair.

Not that this stops him from asking the obvious question, of course:

"What'cha doing?"

"Sitting."

Obviously.

:D?

"Not much of anything."

Other than snuggling up to a person who is definitely not Le Chiffre.

"Oh."

The teen looks just a mite baffled for a moment, before giving a little shrug and heading around to the sofa, flopping down on the opposite end of it from the cuddling pair.

If it were just innocent cuddling, they would totally both be getting pestered and possibly teased relentlessly, because, awwww. But, to his knowledge, at least, this Villiers is still a Le Chiffre's Villiers, and that sort of makes it a cuddle of a different color, kinda.

So, for the moment, at least, he just doesn't bring the question up.

"Looks comfy."

"It is."

Imriel smiles-- and then tilts his head, because Momiji looks a little uncomfortable, or something.

It is perfectly innocent. Sort of.

It's Villiers reworking his world to include Imriel, and an indulgence he could never really enjoy with Le Chiffre. And then, there's the fact that it's Imriel, someone completely different, with fair skin and still young, so young.

"How have you been? I haven't been around much, lately."

"I'm good! I'm on fall break, back home, and stuff. It's kinda quiet, but getting a break's nice!"

The question, at least, seems to have distracted him from half-gawking at the cuddling pair.

"And my cousin Kyo's able to come back to Milliways, again. He was stuck in our world, for a while. So, that's neat."

"Glad to hear it," says Imriel, whose opinion of Milliways has been swayed to the positive.

Guess how. Go on.

Yes, yes it does have to do with the cuddles.

"Ah, yes. School goes ever on."

He remembers those days. He's rather glad he's past them.

"And a cousin? Tell me, is he like you?"

Because that'd be nice. There needs to be lots of happiness in the world. Always.

And look: absently, cuddlecuddle, an almost-kiss that's restrained.

"Noo...Kyo's really different. He's got red hair, and he practices karate a whole lot. And he's kinda shy, and he gets angry a lot - 'cept he's calmer than he used to be, 'cause he gets to take fighting lessons, again, now."

It's possible that Momiji's eyes get a tiny bit wider, at the almost-kiss. He's good at spotting, well, chemistry of the sort that's pretty obvious in the cuddling.

It's easy to learn how to spot that sort of thing, in the Sohma clan. Usually, the people that it's happening between end up injured by the head of the family. So, examples are always easy to recognize.

"Kyo's the Cat, anyway. And he's older than me, too."

"Something wrong?" asks Imri, catching the wide eyes.

He sits up a little straighter, instinctively not wanting to cause offence.

"He can turn into an animal as well?"

And Villiers notes that eye-widening as well, shifting subtly so that he's a comfortable, casual distance away from Imriel. Sort of. With an arm still wrapped loosely around him.

"Mmhm - I'm fine, Imriel."

Momiji's smile turns somewhat apologetic, as the two scoot apart some, tilting his head to the side and coloring a bit.

He sounds, perhaps, more than a little hesitant, as he asks:

"Hey, Villiers? Is Chiffre okay? Guppy said he hadn't seen him for a long time."
