At some point either before or after Lilly and the squidlet, an otter scampers curiously over to Lucifer's table.

Who knew he was the type to acquire Animal Friends? :O

Lucifer looks down at his new Animal Friend with no real expression.

"If you try to mate with my leg or urinate in my drink or anything of that nature, I will throw you into a wall," he says, sounding friendly enough.

The otter sulks.

Now, *really.* I shall have you know I have been thoroughly house-trained.

... His voice may sound kind of familiar.

"...why am I not surprised."

Lucifer makes no effort to pat the otter, but at least he doesn't seem to be about to kick it, either. That would require far too much effort, his body language says.

I do strive for predictability, the otter says seriously.

A tilt of its head. Even if it hadn't spoken, its mannerisms may eventually have struck a chord.

Though if I may pry, is the absence of surprise at the form or the training?

"At the identity," Lucifer says, ever precise, "behind the form."

Aha.

The otter is suddenly a lot more recognizably Puck-shaped than it was before.

Also: sitting on the ground.

"I suppose I am, upon occasion, somewhat distinctive in this place." Beat. "Else 'tis simply that you've powers of perception and nonchalance that are far too great."

"Or both."

Lucifer smiles.

"I hear you've been getting on the wrong side of the Endless. Or was it the right side?"

Not even Lucifer thinks that sex with Delirium sounds like an intelligent idea, no matter HOW curious the experience might be.

"Oh my," Puck says mildly, blinking.

"How word gets round."

He shakes his head, the beginnings of a rueful smile on his lips.

"Even now, I cannot be sure how to classify the side in question. I am only pleased to have emerged in one piece."

"When your charming wife sits in the bar feeding the thing, word will get round."

A tilt of his head, and a smile.

"Ah. That's it, then."

He shrugs smoothly.

"I've no shame, of course. Raspberry Blodwen Squavelock Beret is a lovely little squid."

Lucifer looks delighted. "I don't suppose you let Alanna anywhere near the birth certificate?"

No, he won't get sick of this particular character flaw of Alanna's any time soon.

"Who?"

Puck has met Alanna all of once, and does not know her particular naming proclivities.

(Interesting fact, however: The twins got their middle names from her! Adrian Sunbeam and Aria Moonshine just wouldn't be the same Goodfellow-Kanes we all know and love without Sir Alanna's invaluable contributions.)

Puck continues to look pleasantly inquiring. Whoever this Alanna character is, she sounds awesome.

Lucifer grins.

"Redhead. Works security. Likes swords and ridiculous names."

Beat.

"Your wife likes to grope her."

Puck absorbs this information with the air of someone cheerfully committing facts to memory.

He does hit something of a roadblock, however.

"... Grope her? Really? I confess with some shock that in recent days, I have hardly seen dear Lilly grope anyone at all."

The word 'grope' sounds a little funny coming from him, a little misplaced, but that's probably neither here nor there.

"Really?"

Lucifer looks concerned.

"How unlike her. Do you suppose she is suffering secondhand postpartum depression?"
