Here is one that has not declined changes, but is still clearly and obviously himself, even as a mythical creature.

"Greetings, Medusa," Teja says.

"Teja," she says, looking up and then her face lights up.

"It suits you."

"Thank you!" the centaur-shaped Teja (Teja-shaped centaur?) says, a true smile on his face.

"When I was offered choices, I could not resist this one," he adds. "I have been out already, just running. It is much different from merely riding a horse; the speed of this shape runs through to the core of one's being! It is a good thing that this holiday would give one a choice, unlike others."

"Yes, yes it is. I would not care to be blonde again."

"No," Teja says, "that colour of hair does not truly suit you, much as it does others. But you are pretty as you are; and would a world full of blondes not be so very boring?"

"I rather thinks so."

[ostro_goth]

"It is a holiday that is about change," Teja says, "but I would not know what the change of the bar is about."

He picks up some Lego from a nearby table, and holds it in his hand. "All things are now made of very strange parts."

Pause.

"What are you drawing?"

[mycursedface]

"Just...just the Bar."

[ostro_goth]

"As it is today, or as it would be on other days?" Teja asks.

[mycursedface]

"Today."

[ostro_goth]

"With so many of these things about," he says, gesturing with his handful of Lego.

[mycursedface]

"Yes. They are strange. Do you know what they are?"

[ostro_goth]

"No," Teja says.

He takes one between his fingers and looks at it closely.

"They're little hollow rectangular blocks," he then said, "Made of plastic, in different colour; and they have nubs on top, spaced in regular intervals. There is writing on top of those, it says" -- he peers at it closely -- "LEGO. That is not helpful of that writing, in any way. 'I bequeath' or 'I read' or 'I pick and choose' in Latin - huh?"

"That's. Weird."

[ostro_goth]

"Very," Teja agrees. "It might be some ritual item connected with this holiday, just like the conifers, sweets, and candles at Yule."
