The worst part about convalescing is the actual convalescence stage. Sir Nicholas is at the point where his normal disdain for taking it easy on himself is running head-long into the fact that his arm no longer feels like it is going to fall off if he moves it wrong. He is a man of action, not of settled hobbies or quiet pursuits, and quite frankly he is going to go completely stir-crazy if he doesn't find something active to do.
