He may not have remembered all that much in the way of faces when he'd first arrived to Milliways after four, almost five years, but Will's is one he'd never forget.
James laughs. He's certainly missed talking to Will, though this is a little different to what their conversations used to consist of.
"I'm in my last year at Hogwarts," he starts as he accepts his mug of ale gratefully. He realizes he's never actually tasted this sort before.
"I haven't got a girlfriend, though" - and to this, he unintentionally starts to turn red with embarrassment - "but I do still play Quidditch pretty regularly. I was Captain for a year, but this year, I had to focus on my NEWTs. And for the record, we definitely wiped the fields with the Slytherin team on several occasions." And to this, he starts to grin.
Oh, his hair will likely always be a mess - even when he attempts to control it a bit.
The grin remains.
"Well, I dunno yet. I've been studying to become an Auror like my dad, but I'm not sure if I want to do that anymore. I've been talking a bit about it with mum here, and she's given me a lot of really cool ideas."
"Like helping at my uncle's joke shop for a bit, or possibly starting up my own shop. Then there's playing Quidditch professionally - things like that."
He nods, his enthusiasm for sweets still quite unceasing.
"Good idea - and some cauldron cakes and chocolate frogs for old time's sake. Haven't had those in ages."
James takes a sip of his ale, quiet for a moment as he tries to make an opinion of the drink's taste.
"Oh - a few weeks," he replies with an affirmative nod. "I've got NEWTs to study for - five of them, in fact. And then I'll probably train to be an Auror for a year."
Er. Maybe.
"The tricks were great fun. No one believed I was doing them without magic for a while, even when they took my wand away." He laughs. "Before one of my muggle-born mates went on about Houdini, anyway."
Will just laughs at that, he still can't quite believe this is James but also knows it is too,
"Just 'nother sort o'magic is all. Brave lad takin' on tests an all. Still owe ye a visit to Nottingham though or should I be waitin' till ye're a young'un 'gain?"
"You know, I never really thought about that," James muses thoughtfully. "I mean, me coming back here and being a kid again. It's just ... kind of weird, considering I've been gone for four years but then I suddenly show up here and my four years was only a month, Milliways time."
He runs a hand through his hair and shakes his head. "Really weird. Wouldn't mind going to Nottingham twice, though."
Will comes in the Front Door looking tired, its been far too long since he's seen the door, a long month all around.
So he comes in and gives a smile to the young man as he looks for Kate,
"Ye look content."

Immediately, he's standing up and grinning.
"Will!" he greets him.

"Forgive me, ye've the better o'me."

"Can't believe you can't recognize your little brother," he says, half-amused, half-teasing. "Though, it has been four years."
Four years, and Will looks exactly as he remembers.
"It's me - James."

"James, been ages. So can I be buyin' ye a drink then?"
Reply
"Well, I can't technically drink yet," he says, glancing towards the bar briefly. "M'only seventeen."
Uh. Not to say he hasn't anyway, but he isn't sure how policy goes in Milliways.

He goes up to Bar and gives her his widest grin and soon there are two ales brimming and full,
"Now ye're to tell me what ye're doin'? Is there a lass who 'as yer 'eart, are ye on yer Quidditch team an makin' o'fool o'Slytherins?"

Just seeing James is doing Will a lot of good and he absently ruffles James' hair which is still a mess.
