Sir Nicholas glances up, takes in the similarities between that child and his once apprentice, and then goes back to reading.
It isn't Peter - the clothing is wrong, the expression is wrong, and having met someone who seemed to know him without him knowing them Richard's idea of a multitude of universes seems appropriate enough.
That sentence doesn't even mean anything. Don't like tell me. How could one like tell something? Sir Nicholas raises an eyebrow in disapproval and says nothing.
"I am Sir Nicholas Fury, from the Year of Our Lord sixteen hundred and two." Sir Nicholas says, "As you are a Peter Parquagh from a universe not my own, and obviously not an apprentice to my counterpart there."
He ran into a pole.
"Ouch!"

"Oh My God NO!!! I am not his apprentice," said Peter, "I can't stand him! He's a freak! And, like, Dude! This is weird."
First he finds out he's a comic book character then he finds out this.... Well, this wasn't too surprising anyway.
