Atton's getting ready to interview somebody.

In his case, this means wearing menacing looking sunglasses as he fiddles about with mechanical parts on the table. The sunglasses are interview-related, the parts not so much.

Botherable.

Teja would never apply for a bartending job!

However, he would speak to Atton Rand about something else.

"Hey, Teja." Atton says, pulling off the sunglasses. "What would you know about speeder-bikes?"

[ostro_goth]

"I have seen motor bikes," Teja says, "but had no chance to ride one. I would, if I could."

Pause.

"Why?"

[stuck_mynock]

"I'm bored and I need a project - In this case, building a multipurpose speeder-bike designed for both fast travel - faster than the majority of speeders - and battle. 'S the sort of thing that a few people've tried, but never really get mass-produced 'cause of cost."

[ostro_goth]

"That sounds interesting and useful," Teja says. "As one would have used a horse in my time, in battle. I might make the metal parts for that if you give me that sort of detailed drawings again that you made for the throwing blades!"

[stuck_mynock]

"I might take you up on that. It'd reduce my workload, at least - What would you want in return?"

[ostro_goth]

"For you to teach me to ride it?" Teja says.

[stuck_mynock]

Atton considers.
"Okay. Still a lot of parts, though, not sure that really covers payment."

"Then, if I take to it, would you build another one for me, from parts I would once more make?" Teja asks.

[stuck_mynock]

"Sure. You wouldn't really be able to use the fighting mode in the bar, bear in mind."

[ostro_goth]

"Fighting mode would be with fire arms?" Teja asks.

[stuck_mynock]

"Yeah. Probably turbolasers - The powerful explosive sorts you find on military vehicles. Missiles. Mounted AI controlled turret. Afterburners converted into weaponry. Stuff like that."

[ostro_goth]

"I would not need that," Teja says, "just the part that you ride and that goes very fast."

[stuck_mynock]

"I can do that. Sounds like a deal."

[ostro_goth]

"Indeed, one may go so far as to say it is one," Teja says.

[stuck_mynock]

"I just have." Sagely.
