The passing Guardian raises an eyebrow at the food spread across Dot's table.

"And you complain about how much I eat?"

"So we're both eating for two now. I've been craving a meal like this all cycle." Dot says around a gulp of the green stuff.

That's a lot of high-energy food there cheif.

"Especially the salad with ranch dressing."

"Figures you'd get cravings for a food that doesn't exist back home..." He leans over to give Dot a peck on the cheek before sliding into the seat across from her. "So how was your day?"

"Fun, if a little tiring." Dot smiles, twirling a forkful of salad at him. "Got the wedding invitations today and sent them out to everyone at the Bar. For both the ceremony and for the reception afterward."

"Did we ever figure out what kind of cover story we're gonna use for the people coming from Milliways?"

"Well, since your parents know most of your friends, I'm going to have to bluff a little." Om nom nom. "For the most part, they'll either be my good friends and business contacts, or friends of my father and mother that I've kept in touch with over the cycles that moved away after the explosion."

"Wouldn't the rest of the people in Mainframe know most of the sprites from the Twin City, though?"

"Not everyone, and you know how binomes are at remembering and organizing things. Besides that, most of the binomes who knew my parents personally, along with their friends also moved out."

The perks of knowing the people who populate your system.

"They did?" Blink. "Huh. I didn't know that."

He reaches across the table to snag one of Dot's chips.

...So long as you don't try to sneak a forkful of that salad Dot's snarfing down, you get to keep that hand Bob.

"I ran checks through the population after the restart." She says through a mouthful of salad and dressing. "You remember that was part of checking who had been nullfied or restored."

Hey, the guy's got some sense of self-preservation.

"Oh, yeahh," says Bob, nodding. "Sorry, I was kinda distracted--that was about the time I found Milliways for the first time."

Yes, he does.

It's named Glitch.

"So I've only got a few people who know that Mom and Dad had friends that moved away, along with my regular friends. And your parents already know I've got lots of contacts in other systems."

It's a wonderful cover-story.

Which is why the wedding invites specified that the RSVP's be to Dot to finish each story up.

"That'll come in handy," says Bob, popping another chip into his mouth. "So have you thought about the honeymoon yet?"

"Actually, I have." Dot grins.

...why is that grin unsettling?

"Laini made a suggestion."

Raised eyebrow. "What kind of suggestion?"

"Well, we did a couple of experiments first to see if the option was viable or not..."
