[OOC:
And Then The Nightmares Come]
David enters the bar quietly and takes some food to a booth where he sits, contemplating life, the universe and everything. the food on his plate.
He looks better for the little sleep he'd gotten, but still doesn't look good.
At least he could smile today if he tried.
Meg sees the expression in David's eyes, and something about it looks really horribly familiar.
Meg heads over.*
. . . David?
Reply
Nope, he's not deflecting. Feeling better every second he's not dreaming.

How 'bout you?
*She bites her lip.* I've wanted to talk to you the past few days, but I've been in Paris - it was only supposed to be an overnight trip but it looks like it was longer. Stupid Milliways time difference.
Reply
"What was the trip for?"
Reply
*She looks up.* So about your rough few days . . . care to talk about them?

You mean like going in my head?
*She takes a breath, then lets it out.* - okay. Sure.
*She also pulls out a scarf from her tutu, though. Just in case it's needed for Crying Purposes. 'cause it's always good to be prepared.
The scarf has happy smiling dancing dentists on it.*

"Close your eyes," he whispers, taking her hand.
Reply
She trusts David. She does. He won't mess about with her head.*
Reply
"Loki, STOP! Gods, STOP, it HURTS!"
which penetrate her mind, and then there are things like
He feels his heartbeat slow to an almost stop, and he thinks: this is my peace... before his head drops back, eyes staring almost blankly.
and
I'm leaving you.
and
I love you.
You are too late.
And he's pulling back, eyes streaming with tears anyway.

She recovers from the images quickly - they're not, after all, that unfamiliar - and puts the hand, now descarved, on David's shoulder.
She doesn't hug him, because sometimes after that it makes things worse.*
Oh -
Yes. That's bad.
Reply
"Like I said, I few bad days."
He touches her hand lightly.
"And they're not entirely unfamiliar to you, either..."
Reply
Yes, but me, I'm used to it - you're not.
*She glowers fiercely.* And you should never have had to be.

It's not part of this world. It shouldn't be part of this world.

He takes her hand sadly.
"No one should be subjected to it, and I'm sorry that you have been; you should still be innocent of that, or at least, the violence of it..."
He sighs, and delicately pulls her into a hug.
